Lactic acid bacteria strains and anti-inflammatory activity in HaCaT cells

Thirty-two lactic acid bacteria strains isolated from dairy products were tested for their ability to reduce the secretion of IL-6 and IL-8, measured by ELISA, by HaCaT keratinocytes stimulated with TNF or LPS. The aim was to find candidate strains against keratinocyte-driven skin inflammation such as hidradenitis suppurativa.
